Here in Memphis, we typically experience humidity levels between the 80 and 100 percent mark all summer long, it’s brutal, but it keeps my skin happy. Right now as I sit here writing, the humidity levels are at 35%, and while my hair is frizz free (almost), my skin is rebelling! I’m a lotion girl anytime of the year, so I keep the house stocked with lotion at all times and when the humidity levels drop, it is vital that I don’t skip moisturizing. Taking the time to moisturize daily, can be challenging when there’s work, housework, the business of the holiday season and of course crafting! When I was shopping at Walmart recently, I came across the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer line, which is a moisturizer that you apply in the shower, while your skin is still wet, which saves oodles of time!
The Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer comes in five delightful scents, but I was drawn to the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Cherry Almond Essence (which is new and exclusive to Walmart) and Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Nourishing Monoi Oil! Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer is lightweight, with a non-sticky feel and it contains essential oils that work with water, to lock in moisture for all day softness! Oh, and you know what makes it even better? It immediately absorbs for faster moisturization, which means you can get back to life faster!
Applying lotion in the shower saves me a few minutes, every single day, which gives me time to meditate, which means I have a better day! To be honest, once I hop out of the shower my mind immediately turns to other things, so I almost always forget to moisturize. Being able to apply my moisturizer before I even get out of the shower, is just what I needed! Today I wanted to share my top four tips for keeping your skin happy during the dry months of the year!
4 Fall Skincare Tips
- Get your vitamin C! Vitamin C helps maintain your fantastic skin and it helps with collagen production. While oranges are the traditional go-to for vitamin C, berries like cranberries, strawberries, etc. have vitamin C too! Try to consume at least one daily serving of a fruit that is high in vitamin C.
- Make sure that you’re getting enough collagen daily! Collagen helps give your skin elasticity and strength. Adding collagen to your favorite warm beverage is a really easy way to get the collagen you need everyday. Helpful tip: if you drink your cocoa or coffee cold, mix the collagen in while it’s hot and then refrigerate (I love cold drinks, even in the winter).
- Moisturize! Keep Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer in your shower so it’s easy to give your skin the moisture it needs daily! Once you’re finished showering, turn the water off and while your skin is still wet, apply a dime size amount of Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer to each arm and quarter size amount to each leg and pat dry. Keeping Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer in your shower not only helps you care for your skin, but it makes showers so much more luxurious!
- When you do the dishes, wear gloves! I keep a pack of nitrile gloves under the kitchen sink – they’re not only great for washing dishes, but for preparing meals with raw ingredients too! Wearing gloves, helps cut down on how many times you wash your hands, it’s good to wash your hands, but you don’t want to over wash them!
I love both of the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer scents that I bought, but I am especially fond of the Cherry Almond Essence scent! If there is something that I love as much as moisturized skin, it’s smelling delightful! What do you do to keep your skin in tip-top shape this time of year?
