Add geodes to the top of the soil of indoor plants to give them a fun unexpected home decor touch!
Initially when I planted my calamondin orange tree, I planted it in a terra cotta pot – I was a little worried about terra cotta indoors because, I’ve had trouble with terra cotta getting moldy when it’s used in the house. Sure enough, 3 weeks went by and a disgusting yellow/green mold started growing all over the pot. I picked up a larger plastic pot and extra soil and replanted the orange tree. With the larger pot, there was lots of exposed soil and while I don’t think soil is hideous, it was just more than I would have liked decor-wise. I had a nice bunch of geodes leftover from the shop and I simply placed them on top of the soil. The geodes give a nice unexpected touch to the orange tree’s pot and it was a nice way to use these fancy rocks up!
