Saturday we headed out to a local pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins and take photos – the afternoon light was so golden and lovely, hitting the pumpkins just right, almost like it was whispering: “take all of us home with you”…believe me, it was tempting. There were so many unique pumpkin and gourd varieties to choose from, so many in fact, that I almost forgot to take my camera out to document the process. I pulled my phone out to snap a photo of Little Man standing in front of a giant pumpkin and I kept tap, tap, tapping on the screen to make the darn thing focus. Hubs watched from a distance trying to figure out what I was doing – he wandered over and gingerly told me that the camera was in focus. Suddenly it hit me: my eyes were dry! Hubs helped finish taking the photos and after we selected the rest of our pumpkins, we headed to Walgreens to pick up Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ for Dry Eyes.

New Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ for Dry Eyes are preservative free eye drops in a multi-dose bottle that is available for the first time in the U.S.! Most eye drops contain a preservative to prevent bacteria from growing in the bottle itself however, the preservative doesn’t help with eye relief and some people are actually sensitive to the preservative. There are preservative free eye drops on the market but, they’re pricey, single dose vials and not to mention wasteful! Luckily Clear Eyes® the #1 selling brand of eye drops, has solved this issue, by making a convenient solution for relief: Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ for Dry Eyes, the very first preservative free eyes drop in a multi-dose bottle. Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ utilizes a proprietary built-in purifying filter that keeps bacteria out (doctors actually recommend preservative free drops for dry eyes)! Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ for Dry Eyes, is a lubricant drop (also known as artificial tears), that is made especially for the increasing number of people who deal with dry eyes from ongoing issues, to things we encounter in life, like wind or too much screen time (hello)! Each bottle of Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ contains over 220 drops and has a one drop control, soft-squeeze bottle. As if that weren’t enough, Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ provides up to 12 hours of soothing comfort and it’s formulated with Sodium Hyalouronate, a form of Hyaluranic Acid, for advanced comfort.

Pumpkin picking is more than just going to pick up pumpkins to decorate the house with, it’s the perfect occasion for family photos and a great time to dress in your fall best, especially in plaid. One of my favorite things to wear out for pumpkin picking, is a shawl, but I’ll tell you what, shawls are a little cumbersome to wear when you’re picking pumpkins and trying to keep it from falling off. I decided to take my favorite plaid shawl and turn it into a poncho, making it perfectly suited for pumpkin picking adventures!

  • Lay the scarf out flat on the floor
  • Cut the scarf halfway down in the middle
  • On the cuts you made, create a 1/2″ double hem going from one end to the next (including the neckline)
  • Fold the scarf in half right side out
  • To create arm holes, make a 2″ seam on the short edge, 9″ down from the fold line (you don’t need to roll or fold anything)
  • Repeat the above step on the opposite side of the shawl

That’s it! Your shawl is now a poncho that you can proudly (and easily) wear anytime, but it’s especially wonderful for wearing while selecting that perfect pumpkin!

Everything about this post is fun! Except for the dry eyes, of course, but it looks like you’ve got that totally covered now! And I can’t believe how HUGE that pumpkin is!!

    • Heather October 15, 2016 at 2:41 pm

I know right? Thank you Nicole!

Great tutorial. I have couple of big scarves which are quite large, more like a shawl so would be perfect candidates for this project. Have noticed ponchos are “in” again, how handy. Sometimes with our weather here this Fall in western CO a light poncho would be perfect.
The fabric of your poncho has such gorgeous colors in it, imagine is very complimentary to your coloring.
    Have wonderful week

Oh I bet they will look amazing! If you keep anything long enough, it will come back in style! I love it! Thank you JaneEllen!

Well, that was certainly easy enough. I think you could do that with any large square of soft fabric that you love! Fall is such a fun season… love pumpkin picking:) (visiting from Brag About It)
