Over the weekend, I got the itch to start decorating – I love reusing what I have in new ways, I don’t generally do overhauls of a space, I like transitioning and keeping pieces that I treasure in the mix. I started looking through my cabinets and drawers and it was fun to rediscover some of the things that I treasure, even just after a year of not seeing those things, it was a sweet little memory jog! I pulled out this simple peony bouquet I made last year, oh and see that little white thing wrapped around the vase? I’m not sure what it was supposed to be, but Little Man crocheted it for me last year and I put it around the vase so I could use it everyday!
I grabbed my antlers and tucked them in the back of the console to give the space texture. I don’t think you’ve seen it before however, the little boxwood tree has been in this spot for a few months now, but I added a simple navy and white ribbon around it. The little silver Anthro bunnies, made their debut for the season and of course you can’t forget the geode knobs on the drawers!
If you remember when I shared the living room nook refresh initially, I had talked about painting or staining the console table, but after living with it this way for so long, I think I will leave it that way. I love how bright the space is with the wood being bare! The baskets on the bottom shelf are actually functional and sadly, the stuff inside is junky, so I grabbed some antique hemp sheets and tucked them around the junky stuff in the baskets. The sheets work perfectly and beautifully to conceal the stuff I don’t want to see every time I pass by the console.
Something that I purchased just recently, were these Walking Dead enamel tags. I fell in love with them the moment I spotted them! I mean seriously, you can have The Walking dead merch that’s actually subtle and beautiful? Sign me up! I actually bought 6 of these sweet tags, 3 to hang up here on the mirror (only two are pictured), 1 for a keychain and 2 for necklaces. Hubs and I love The Walking Dead, which I touched on recently, when I showed you a sneak peek of the t-shirt artwork I’m working on (I’m hoping to feature the shirts soon). I’m not one to hang up memorabilia from anything, I really like more subtle decor and these sweet tags fit that bill, with their vintage farmhouse look!
I hung my tags on the mirror with cotton crocheted lace, which really compliments them! I hung the tags with separate strings of crocheted lace, so that I could hang them at different levels. I love that we can walk by each day and see these tags and that they compliment the space!
And no, this is not a sponsored post, I just adore the enamel Walking Dead tags! If you love the tags as much as I do, you can get them here.
