My boy has been begging for walkie talkie cans for months and I finally got motivated to make them for him!
Walkie Talkie Cans DIY
Two clean tin cans
String (I used and tie from an old hoodie)
Double sided tape
Trim your paper to fit the circumference and height of the cans. Drill a hole in the bottom of the cans and clean up the metal dust.
If your cans have a jagged bit (my can opener always leaves a sharp piece behind), use a metal file to clean it up to keep little ears and fingers safe! Put double sided tape around the top and bottom of the can and wrap the scrapbook paper around the can carefully.
Now that Little Man finally has his little communication device I’ve had to explain to him screaming won’t help me hear him better – keeping the string taught and his voice deep is better…it’s hilarious watching him get the hang of it. Did you ever make walkie talkie cans as a kid?
Always supervise children when the play with things that have strings.
